Michael Van Gerwen's amazing form continued as he made it back-to-back Players Championship victories with a 6-3 win over James Wilson in Wednesday's Barnsley Metrodome.
The dominant Dutchman chucked in a nine-darter en route to the final as he followed up Tuesday's win and landed his 18th tournament of the year.
That tally matches the number of wins he recorded in 2015 and he has now won 48 of his last 50 matches, and five events in a row.
Having defeated Mike De Decker 6-2 and Alan Tabern 6-4, top seed Van Gerwen thrashed Jason Lovett 6-0 in round three, before a nine-dart finished helped him to a 6-2 win over Simon Whitlock.
Robert Thornton was then beaten 6-3 in the quarter-finals, ahead of wins by the same scoreline against Belgian youngster Dimitri Van den Bergh and Wilson which wrapped up the title for the 27-year-old Van Gerwen.
Wilson initially kept tabs with his opponent in the final, sharing the first six legs before Van Gerwen held on his own throw for 4-3 and then broke in brilliant fashion as he followed a 180 with a 108 finish.
And Wilson then failed to convert a couple of chances to prolong the match in the next leg, although it was still a fine day's work for the 44-year-old, who reached his first ever PDC final.
The Yorkshireman has been in fine form of late, having reached three semi-finals and a quarter-final on the circuit.
It was a also a memorable day for Van den Bergh, a six-time winner on the PDC Unicorn Development and Challenge Tours, who enjoyed his best-ever run on the ProTour.
And Dutchman Jermaine Wattimena won through to his first PDC semi-final before he was beaten 6-4 by Wilson.
Another Dutchman, Jeffrey de Graaf, hit a nine-darter in the second round against Chris Dobey before going on to lose 6-5.
