Michael van Gerwen wants to use his double-header of Premier League Darts matches on Thursday to propel himself top of the league.
Second-placed Van Gerwen has had a game in hand since missing a week of action due to injury earlier this month, and is keen to overtake Peter Wright in Manchester by beating James Wade then Raymond van Barneveld.
"I'm the world No 1 and I think I should be top of the league so this is my chance," said Van Gerwen.
"I'm quite confident because I've won the league for the past three years and I want to do it again this year.
"I'm in a good position now, I don't have any problems with my back and I just have to make sure I prepare myself well on Thursday and play as well as possible.
"Playing two games is always tough but I've done it before - we do it in the second half of the league - and won both matches, so I'm feeling good."
Van Gerwen is currently the only unbeaten player in this year's Premier League and is on course to qualify for the title-deciding play-offs.
Premier League Darts is in Manchester on Thursday, live on Sky Sports from 7pm.
