Fernando Alonso's manager Flavio Briatore has dismissed rumours that the driver was set to leave F1 after this season.

Flavio Briatore says Fernando Alonso "loves" McLaren and has no plans to depart the team before his contract expires.

Speaking to Steve Rider in an interview to be broadcast by Sky F1 in the build-up to Sunday's Russian Grand Prix, the Italian, who manages Alonso, confirmed he isn't moving in 2016.

"There are no options, it is one option - McLaren," Briatore told Sky Sports F1.

"We [will] stay with McLaren. Fernando loves the team. Fernando is very happy in the team, I don't think anyone is happy when you have that kind of performance, but we are just working hard to stay together and to make sure Ron puts this team together, because he has done it many times and I believe he will do it this time as well."

However, despite reaffirming his client's allegiance to McLaren, Briatore did say he wanted to see Alonso take on Lewis Hamilton once again.

"He is a driver, a world champion, I believe he is one of the best drivers. I want to see him with Hamilton," he added.
