Romain Grosjean says he has 'made his decision' on where he will be racing in 2016, but refused to elaborate on whether that meant he would remain with Lotus.

The Enstone team's future is the subject of much speculation with protracted talks and speculation surrounding a takeover of the team from Renault.

The French manufacturer gave Grosjean his first F1 chance in 2009 and his nationality and close links with oil firm Total make him a leading candidate for a seat with a Renault works team.

But the 29-year-old has also been linked with the Haas outfit which is due to join the sport next year.

"The only thing I can tell you is that I have made my decision," Grosjean said in the FIA press conference.

What it could mean for F1...

Grosjean scored Lotus' first podium finish since Texas 2013 in Belgium and he is hopeful of taking more silverware back to Enstone before the end of the season.

"We didn't think any podiums were possible this year, but we did it and we are always eager for more," he added.

"Spa was a huge opportunity for us and hopefully there will be more coming, but all we can do is work hard."

Unlike Grosjean, team-mate Pastor Maldonado is unsure about where his future lies, but he hopes to remain with the Enstone.

The Venezuelan brings a reported £35m to the team via backers in his native country, but a takeover by Renault could end the dependency on that cash.

"I hope so. We will see," Maldonado said when asked if he would still be racing for the team next year.
