Highlights from Jim Furyk's historic 58 at the Travelers Championship

Jim Furyk created PGA Tour history at the Travelers Championship as he became the first player to shoot 58 in an astonishing final round he described as "pretty much flawless".

Furyk felt something was special on the cards when he birdied the second and fourth either side of holing a wedge from 135 yards for a spectacular eagle at the third, and he was proved right as a birdie at the sixth ignited a run of seven in a row.

After scorching to the turn in just 27 blows, Furyk picked up three more shots at 10, 11 and 12 before failing to take advantage of the par-five 13th, and after a par at 14, he lipped out from eight feet at the 15th.

But the key putt dropped at the next as he nailed a tricky 23-footer for his 10th birdie of a remarkable day, and he did well to two-putt from distance at 17 before safely finding his 18th green in regulation at the last.

The putt for a 57 slid past the cup, but it left him a tap-in to complete the lowest score in any official PGA Tour event, and the first sub-60 round since Furyk carded a 59 at the BMW Championship in 2013.
