JB Holmes makes a splash as he attempts to get out of a hazard

JB Holmes had opened up a two-shot lead midway through the second round of the Hero World Challenge before he came unstuck at the par-three 12th.
Holmes raced to 12 under after following birdies at the third and fifth with a chip-in for eagle at the sixth, but he parred the next five before pulling his tee shot left of the green at the tough 202-yard 12th.
His ball settled in a plugged lie in thick mud on the edge of the water, although he fancied his chances of splashing out and onto the green as he removed his shoes and socks.
Ignoring the threat of snakes, Holmes waded in and took his stance, but he appeared to decelerate on his first attempt to extract his ball from the hazard.
He claimed he had "hit a rock" as his ball kicked back into the water and seemingly into a worse position than the first. But he decided to have a second try and a much harder swing got his ball onto the edge of the putting surface, from where he two-putted for a double-bogey five.
