Ahead of The Open being broadcast live on Sky Sports for the first time, we went behind the scenes to see how the world No 1 Jason Day was preparing for his latest major challenge.

The 28-year-old is looking to bounce back this week from his disappointment at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational, where Day held the lead heading to the closing stretch but narrowly missed out to Dustin Johnson.

The world No 1 looks ahead to his week

Day was busy going through his routine on the range, but still took time out to speak to our digital media reporter Henni Zuel live on the Sky Sports Facebook page.

The Australian is already a three-time winner worldwide in 2016, but what does the reigning PGA champion make of the course set-up in Ayrshire and his hopes for the week?

As well as previewing the condition of the course, Day spent time to discuss how he was feeling ahead of the third major of the year.
