25 years since Payne Stewart's US Open victory at Hazeltine

This week marks 25 years since Payne Stewart secure his maiden US Open victory in one of the most dramatic major finishes in recent history.
The American, who had won the PGA Championship two years earlier, made a late comeback on Sunday to force a play-off with Scott Simpson before coming out on top during a topsy turvy final day.
After moving into a share of the lead with an opening-round 67, Stewart took a one-shot advantage into the weekend with a two-under 70.
A one-over 73 on Saturday allowed Scott Simpson to move alongside him at the top of the leaderboard, with the pair holding a four-stroke cushion over the chasing pack and setting up a Sunday shoot-out.
Heading to the last, Simpson missed the fairway off the 18th tee and couldn't get up-an-down from the deep rough to save par, with a dropped shot allowing Stewart to move alongside him with a par.
In the play-off, Stewart birdied the opening two holes but saw his lead wiped with a blemish at the fifth as Simpson birdied.
An up-and-down front nine saw Simpson reach the turn with a one-shot advantage and the lead continued to change hands, with Stewart briefly moving ahead before falling two behind with successive dropped shots from the 14th.
Trailing by two as they made their way to the 16th, Stewart capitalised on a Simpson blemish to post a birdie-three and level things up.
Simpson then bogeyed 17 and 18, finishing with a five-over 77 and handing Stewart a two-shot win and the first of two US Open titles.
Stewart would go on to claim his second US Open at Pinehurst eight years later, sealing victory with a 15-foot putt at the last to fend off the challenge of Phil Mickelson.
That would be Stewart's last victory as he was killed in a plane crash four months later, but his legacy in majors will always live on.
