Chris Baker has revealed the sentimental value of activating a bonus in his Washington Redskins contract last season.

The defensive end recorded a career-high six sacks throughout the 2015 campaign, including two on Philadelphia Eagles' Sam Bradford in the same game, to earn an extra $280,000.

But the windfall wasn't spent on extravagance, Baker exclusively told Sky Sports.

I set a goal for at least 10 this year, and I know I have the ability to do it.

"I paid for my daughter's college tuition," he said.

"Six sacks was my target for last year because I had a nice bonus incentive, so that was a goal.

"Now that I've got it, I know that I have the ability to get more. I set a goal for at least 10 this year, and I know I have the ability to do it."

Baker's attention now turns to the upcoming season where the Redskins will aim to improve on the play-off loss to the Green Bay Packers that ended their 2015 hopes.
