A review of the rest of Sunday this afternoon's meeting at Chepstow as Paul Nicholls had a four-timer.

Dolos made his first start in England a winning one when making all for a clear-cut success in the Champion Hats Juvenile Hurdle at Chepstow.

Having needed a stewards' inquiry to take the race last year with Adrien Du Pont, champion trainer Paul Nicholls required no such assistance in this year's renewal with the 4-5 favourite barely breaking sweat in the two-mile prize.

Sent straight into the lead by Sam Twiston-Davies, the odds-on favourite stayed in that position throughout with the pair coasting to a seven-length success over chief market rival Rainbow Dreamer.

Nicholls said: "He is a nice horse and he will probably go to Cheltenham next for what was the Paddy Power meeting.

"He is probably not a Triumph horse. He is a bit like Adrien Du Pont in that he is a real galloper. He could come back here for the Grade One at Christmas. He is jumps bred and will be a chaser in time.

"Sam said it will be interesting when you give him a squeeze, but the great thing is he jumps really well.

"I thought he would go OK but you never know with these babies until you run them."

Definite Outcome gifted Rebecca Curtis a third winner at the two-day meeting when leading home a one-two for the trainer in the totepoolliveinfo.com Novices' Chase.

After having Beast Of Burden tip up late on when looking the likely winner of the extended two-mile-seven-furlong prize 12 months ago, the Newport-based handler enjoyed a more favourable outcome on this occasion thanks a smart display from the 5-1 shot.

Travelling into the race well, the Carl Hinchy-owned gelding added to his bumper and hurdle wins when holding off his fast-finishing stablemate Aurillac by a neck.

Curtis said: "It was a shame that we had to run them in the same race. I just thought Aurillac would need this for his jumping.

"He (Definite Outcome) has done that easy enough and Jonathan (Moore) said he was never hard on him. That was probably as quick as he wanted it.

"He was flying at home and he was always going to make a better chaser. He is relaxed now as when he first came in he was quite a keen horse.

"The plan is to go to Aintree on November 5 for a three-mile novice there if he comes well out of this."

Wishfull Dreaming made a successful return from almost almost a year on the sidelines in the totepool Live Info Download The App Handicap Hurdle.

Although not seen out in 337 days, the Philip Hobbs-trained five-year-old made light work of his rivals in a dramatic renewal of the two-mile contest.

Despite drifting to odds of 4-1, the Listed bumper winner travelled and jumped fluently throughout before making it three wins from just five career starts.

The first piece of drama came when favourite Barman took a crashing fall three out before leader One More Go took a nasty tumble when attempting to press on at the second last.

Having avoided all the carnage around him, Wishfull Dreaming met the last as if it was the first before posting a five-length success.

Hobbs said: "He did well as he was a little bit fresh. I'd been very pleased with him. He had a back issue and that's why he has only run a couple of times.

"He has been good this season and hopefully he will improve this year. He does not have the scope of (brother) Wishfull Thinking, but he does have some of his ability though.

"There is a lads race at Cheltenham a week on Friday for him so we will see what the handicapper does."

Art Mauresque dug deep to repel the challenge of the fast-finishing Double Shuffle to win the John Ayres Memorial Handicap Chase.

The near two-and-a-half-mile affair had loss some of its gloss with top weight and multiple Grade One winner Sire De Grugy taken out of the race on account of the ground.

However, Art Mauresque made the most of the opportunity, finding plenty for pressure in the hands of Nick Scholfield as Double Shuffle finished with a flourish after the last.

Art Mauresque (10-1) had just a neck to spare at the line with Voix D'Eau a further three and three-quarter lengths back in third.

Nicholls said: "He was 12-1 and I thought 'am I missing a trick', he shouldn't be 12-1, so I had £50 each way at 12s and I don't normally bet as I really fancied him.

"He travelled like a legend and then just tried to pull himself up in front.

"We will probably look towards the Old Roan or the Paddy Power. He ran some good races at Cheltenham last year on ground that was too soft for him.

"He's a big horse and he's only six - it's quite likely there's improvement left in him. The horse is stronger this year and that's just the difference.

"Today was really a prep for the season but he had been going well at home."

Sam Twiston-Davies missed the ride on Splash Of Ginge after his fall from One More Go in the previous race and also gave up his other remaining rides with his trainer father Nigel reporting him to be "sore".

Nicholls made it a treble with El Bandit in the feature and there was to be a fourth winner on the day for the Ditcheat handler when his Coastal Tiep (2-1) won division one of the bumper under Nick Scholfield.
