Tryster has been ruled out of a trip to Japan after suffering a leg injury which will require surgery.

The five-year-old was due to have a crack at the Grade One Tenno Sho (Autumn) at Tokyo racecourse on October 30 with trainer Charlie Appleby having decided to bypass Melbourne's Cox Plate in favour of the Japanese event.

However, the Shamardal gelding sustained an injury during his preparation in Newmarket and all plans are now on hold.

"It is a great pity that Tryster has suffered this injury, which is serious enough to require surgery," Appleby told www.godolphin.com.
