Commissioned is being given plenty of time to recover from injury and could return to action in the Dubai Gold Cup at Meydan in March.

But if this season's Queen Alexandra Stakes winner is not ready in time then he will be prepared for another run at Royal Ascot in 2017.

The seven-year-old, trained by Gordon Elliott and owned by Nick Bradley Racing Nineteen Partnership, was pulled up in the Goodwood Cup after having been struck into.

"We thought we'd got him back right then he had a setback, so we're just giving him as much time off as possible," said Bradley.

"We won't see him before Dubai on World Cup night, anyway.
