PACO BOY was a beaten favourite in the Lockinge Stakes last time but made no mistake here with a comfortable success. He was always travelling with some ease under Richard Hughes behind a strong pace and he came to the front cantering inside the final two furlongs. Kept up to his work, he was always holding the challenge of Ascot specialist Cesare, who made an excellent return to action after almost a year off the track. Last year's Jersey Stakes hero Aqlaam ran a blinder too in third and he should have a decent race in him this season - he holds entries in the Eclipse and the July Cup. Main Aim has been progressing through the ranks this season and this staying-on fourth bodes well and he looks capable of winning again sooner rather than later. Favourite Gladiatorus was keen to repeat the front-running tactics that saw him score on World Cup night at Nad Al Sheba but he basically teed things up for those from off the pace and was a spent force with two furlongs to run. He is clearly much better than this effort.
