Aston Villa boss Remi Garde has confirmed interest from a Greek side in a deal to sign out-of-favour winger Charles N'Zogbia.

N'Zogbia has only played in two Premier League games this season, on the field for a combined 41 minutes, although Garde left the door slightly ajar for the 29-year-old to force his way back into his plans despite not having featured since November 21.

AEK Athens have been linked with a move for the player Villa paid £9.5m to Wigan to sign in 2011.

Garde said: "I've got some phone calls for Charles, a Greek club in Athens, yes. Charles is a player that could leave the club but this is his decision mainly."

The Frenchman did not specify a price tag for N'Zogbia and said a move away from the club was not a foregone conclusion.

He added: "You can never say that. You never know in football but for the moment he's not playing for me."

Garde was tight-lipped on the future of striker Libor Kozak, who has been linked with Celtic but came off the bench for his first Premier League appearance of the season against Sunderland on Saturday.

He also admitted an interest in Marseille 'keeper Steve Mandanda, but the 30-year-old said earlier on Thursday that he would be staying with the Ligue 1 club at least until the end of the season.
