Newport have extended defender Ben Davies' loan spell from Preston until the end of the season.

Davies, 20, who arrived from Preston for an initial month in January, has made six appearances for the Exiles.

"I feel like I have fitted in quite well to the team and I am more than happy to have the deal extended to the end of the season," Davies told the club's official website.

"The initial deal was only for a month and that time has flown by. We have managed to pick up a couple of good results and we have a squad here that can really kick on and progress."

Manager Warren Feeney, who took over from John Sheridan last month, added: "I'm delighted to have Ben on board until the end of the season.

"He has done very well since he has arrived and he's certainly hit the ground running during his time with us."
