It was another busy Deadline Day with transfer movement in and out, up and down the country.

Check out all the best stories and biggest events as they unfolded in our timeline review.

Here's how it went down…

6.20am: Southampton have reached an agreement with Napoli for forward Manolo Gabbiadini, according to Sky in Italy.

8.07am: Blackburn Rovers have re-signed Marvin Emnes on loan for the remainder of the season.

9.40am: Sky sources understand Leicester City are in talks to sign Udinese defender Molla Wague.

10.10am: Arsenal youngster Gedion Zelalem has joined Eerste Divisie side VVV Venlo on loan until the end of the season.

10.33am: Emmanuel Adebayor looks to have signed for Istanbul Basaksehir FK in the Turkish Super Lig

10.35am: Leicester striker Leonardo Ulloa arrives at Leicester's training ground 24 hours after saying he was going on striker because he wants a move away from the club.

10.39am: Former Chelsea loanee Pato became the latest high-profile player to move to China, swapping Villarreal for Fabio Cannavaro-managed Tianjin Quanjian.

10.41am: Middlesbrough boss Aitor Karanka cut a frustrated figure in his Monday press conference and on Tuesday morning it was confirmed for Real Madrid ace Jese Rodriguez had snubbed a move to the Riverside to return to Spain. After failing to settle at PSG, he's joined hometown club Las Palmas on loan until the end of the season.

11.00am: News emerges that Celtic striker Moussa Dembele is on his way to London. Could the reported £40m Chelsea target be heading to the English capital to thrash out a deal with the Blues? Sky Sports News reporter Kaveh Solhekol reports his source says Dembele is flying to London for a knee procedure.

11.12am: We reveal Villarreal winger Alfonso Pedraza is having a medical at Leeds. The initial deal will be a loan until the end of the season, with a view to a permanent £8.5m deal. The loan fee is £300k, which Leeds had to pay to end his previous load at Lugo.

11.20am: Hull City unveil Inter Milan defender Andrea Ranocchia, who they have signed on loan until the end of the season.

11.36am: Inter Milan winger Jonathan Biabiany turns down Chelsea's loan offer.

12.13pm: Aston Villa agreed a fee in the region of £15m for Brentford striker Scott Hogan, according to Sky sources.

12.28pm: Sunderland make an improved bid of £7.5m plus add-ons for Leicester striker Leonardo Ulloa.

12.59pm: Mamadou Sakho is seemingly edging towards a departure from Liverpool and is spotted at London Euston. Is he on his way to Crystal Palace? They'll have to pay £20m for their services.

1.10pm: Watford agree a transfer fee of £3.5m for Adlene Guedioura with both Hull and Middlesbrough. It's up to the player who to choose…

1.12pm: Ashley Westwood completes a medical ahead of his proposed move to Burnley.

1.17pm: Hull City duo Alex Bruce and James Weir join Wigan on loan until the end of the season.

1.41pm: Shock of the day? Sky sources reveal League One Scunthorpe have rejected a £4m bid for striker Kevin van Veen from Chinese Super League club Henan Jianye FC.

1.50pm: Liverpool loan 20-year-old Cameron Brannagan to League One Fleetwood Town for the rest of the season

2.00pm: Jose Mourinho confirmed Ashley Young and Wayne Rooney would not be leaving Manchester United this transfer window.

2.03pm: Southampton announced the signing of Nice goalkeeper Mouez Hassen on loan until the end of the season.

2.33pm: Brighton completed the permanent signing of Glenn Murray from Brighton for an undisclosed fee.

2.35pm: Watford wing-back Juan Carlos Paredes joined Olympiakos on loan until the end of the season.

2.42pm: Is there any way out of Ulloa? The signs are not looking good with Sky sources reporting that Sunderland's third bid of £7.5m plus add-ons had been rejected by Leicester.

2.48pm: Watford striker Odion Ighalo undergoes a medical with Chinese Super League side Chongchun Yatai after the two clubs agree a fee of around £20m, Sky sources report.

3.24pm: Sky sources report that Scott Hogan had agreed personal terms with Aston Villa ahead of a proposed £9m (potentially rising to £12m) move from Brentford.

3.25pm: Branislav Ivanovic arrived in Russia to undergo a medical with Zenit St Petersburg ahead of a proposed move from Chelsea. While the Russian window doesn't close on January 31, Zenit had until 2am Russian time to complete the deal before the Europa League registration cut-off.

4.01pm: Leeds wrap up the signing of Villarreal winger Alfonso Pedraza on loan until the end of the season - and he could join them permanently in the summer

4.21: Sky Sports News reporter Paul Gilmour quashes talk in Turkey of Galatasaray making a late swoop for Tottenham's Vincent Janssen.

4.48pm: Burnley confirm the signing of Ashley Westwood from Aston Villa for an undisclosed fee. The player has signed up to a three-and-a-half year deal at Turf Moor.

4.55pm: Mamadou Sakho's potential £20m switch from Liverpool to Crystal Palace continues to be negotiated - with the players wages a stumbling block.

5.08pm: Odion Ighalo arrives at Watford's training ground to finalise his £20m move to Chinese club Changchun Yatai.

6.15pm: Reading signed West Ham defender Reece Oxford on loan for the rest of the season. The 18-year-old has played just twice for the Hammers this campaign.

7.00pm: Sergi Canos joined Brentford from Sky Bet Championship rivals Norwich for an undisclosed fee. The former Liverpool winger only moved to the Canaries in the summer but played just nine times - including three in the league.

Watford have confirmed that Odion Ighalo has completed a move to Chinese club Changchun Yatai.

7.15pm: Watford confirmed the sale of striker Odion Ighalo to Changchun Yatai for an undisclosed fee. Ighalo scored 39 goals in 100 appearances for the Hornets during two-and-a-half years at Vicarage Road.

7.43pm: QPR turned Pawel Wszolek's loan deal into a permanent move. The 24-year-old Poland international joined from Italian side Hellas Verona for an undisclosed fee.

7.48pm: Fulham announced the signing of Gohi Cyriac on loan from Belgian outfit KV Oostende for the remainder of the campaign. The striker arrives with the club having an option to buy at the end of the deal.

8.08pm: Former Manchester United and Newcastle winger Gabriel Obertan signed a short-term deal at Wigan until the end of the season. The 27-year-old had been a free agent following his release from Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala.

8.15pm: Norwich sealed a loan deal for Ajax left-back Mitchell Dijks. The Canaries have an option to buy the defender at the end of the season.

Robbie Brady completed a transfer from Norwich as Burnley were busy on deadline day.

8.35pm: Burnley announced the club-record signing of Republic of Ireland international Robbie Brady. The 25-year-old joined from Norwich having been relegated from the Premier League with the Canaries last season.

8.39pm: Bradford made their fourth signing of the day by taking defender Kevin Toner on loan until the end of the season from Aston Villa.

8.43pm: Leeds signed Swansea winger Modou Barrow on loan until the end of the season. Leeds boss Garry Monk had previously worked with the winger at the Liberty Stadium.

9.17pm: Oldham Athletic re-signed Chris Taylor on loan until the end of the season from Bolton. The winger played 250 games for the Latics between 2005 and 2012.

9.33pm: QPR announced Ravel Morrison had moved to Loftus Road on loan from Lazio. The former West Ham midfielder previously spent time on loan at Rangers in 2014.

Southampton have signed Napoli striker Manolo Gabbiadini on a four-and-a-half year contract.

10.03pm: Italy international Manolo Gabbiadini sealed his switch from Napoli to Southampton. The 25-year-old is expected to cost £14million with add ons and has signed a deal until 2021.

10.04pm: Champions Leicester - who are just two points above the relegation zone after a 1-0 defeat to Burnley - captured Molla Wague. The defender joins on loan for the season from Udinese with the consent of his parent club Granada, and the Foxes have an option to buy in the summer.

10.09pm: Emyr Huws joined Sky Bet Championship side Ipswich on loan from Cardiff for the rest of the season.

10.14pm: Premier League bottom side Hull announced the loan signing of Alfred N'Diaye from Villarreal, subject to international clearance. The midfielder previously played in the top flight for Sunderland in 2013.

10.30pm: Blackburn winger Ben Marshall joined Wolves for an undisclosed fee. He linked up with manager Paul Lambert, who he worked with at Ewood Park.

10.47pm: Birmingham signed 19-year-old Arsenal defender Krystian Bielik on loan until the end of the season while the Blues allowed David Cotterill to rejoin Bristol City on loan.

Middlesbrough completed the signing of midfielder Adlene Guedioura from Watford.

10.54pm: Algeria international Adlene Guedioura joined Middlesbrough from Watford for an undisclosed fee. The 31-year-old midfielder penned a two-and-a-half-year deal at the Riverside.

10.59pm: A minute before the deadline Norwich confirmed the signing of Yanic Wildschut from Wigan for a reported £7million. The left-sided player was signed to replace Brady, who earlier departed to Burnley.

11.00pm: Marc Wilson's loan move to West Brom from Bournemouth was rubber stamped. The defender played under Tony Pulis at Stoke between 2010 and 2013.

11.26pm: One of Lincoln's FA Cup heroes, Theo Robinson, returned to Southend on a two-and-a-half year deal. The forward scored seven goals on loan from Watford at Roots Hall in 2008/09.

11.30pm: Aston Villa confirmed their move for Brentford striker Scott Hogan in a deal which could rise to £12million. The forward has scored 14 goals in the Sky Bet Championship season.

11.49pm: Omar Bogle sealed a deal to join Wigan from Grimsby. The 24-year-old has scored 19 goals for the Sky Bet League Two Mariners this season and steps up two levels.

11.59am: Zach Clough swapped Bolton for Nottingham Forest for an undisclosed fee. The attacking midfielder signed for four-and-a-half years after scoring 21 times in 59 league appearances for The Trotters.

12.06am: Wigan complete a second late signing with a move for Manchester City's Republic of Ireland under-21 midfielder Jack Byrne on a three-and-a-half year contract, subject to EFL and FA clearance.

12.10am: Ross McCormack ends an ill-fated spell at Aston Villa by completing a loan move for the rest of the season to Nottingham Forest. The striker scored three goals in 22 games after joining for £12million last summer but his attitude was criticised by boss Steve Bruce.

12.15am: Venezuelan club Atletico Venezuela announce the sale of midfielder Yangel Herrera to Manchester City for an undisclosed fee.

12.27am: Hull confirmed the signing of Poland international Kamil Grosicki from French club Rennes for an undisclosed fee, subject to international clearance. The 28-year-old right winger has agreed a three-and-a-half-year deal.

1.10am: Long after the deadline, Crystal Palace reveal they got their man: Mamadou Sakho joins on a loan from Liverpool until the end of the season.
