Legendary athlete reportedly has bust-up with team officials

Kim Collins has claimed he will not run for St Kitts and Nevis again after missing his Olympics 100 metres heat on Saturday. The opening ceremony flag-bearer, who is also due to run in the 200m and 4x100m relay, has reportedly had a bust-up with team officials after leaving the Olympic village to stay in a hotel with his wife. A message on his Twitter account read: "My fans. I won't lie. Won't be running later tonight. For those who saw me run in Mexico. That's the last time I represent my country. Even men in prison get their wives to visit." The 2003 world champion was due to feature in heat seven of the 100m which was won by Great Britain's Dwain Chambers, but instead says he is heading home. "I could be wrong but I don't see why it should be such a problem," Collins said. "I would have better luck if I went out with some chick and came back and there wouldn't be a bit of a problem. I honestly don't see what is the big deal. "I'm a grown man with kids, about to have grandkids." Collins is still entetred in the 200m and sprint relay but will not be staying to take part in those events after having had the chance to race in the 100m taken away from him.
