PHIL TAYLOR WINS HIS 16TH WORLD MATCHPLAY TITLE
TAYLOR 18-8 WRIGHT
Taylor turns up the power with a maximum to leave 161, and he returns to score 60.
Wright is unable to put any pressure on, but 'The Power' misses D16 for the title, but returns to land it at the second time of asking.
TAYLOR *17-8 WRIGHT
Wright stays alive with a cool 95 finish. He gets D5 with his last-dart in hand.
Taylor will come out after the interval and throw for his 16th World Matchplay title.
TAYLOR 17-7* WRIGHT
Phil Taylor moves one leg away from a fairy-tale ending in Blackpool. The crowd know it!

Wright misses three at doubles with Taylor on 139. But he narrowly misses tops.
'Snakebite' still can't finish and 'The Power' makes no mistake with D10 for a seventh break of the match.
TAYLOR 15-7* WRIGHT
An 89 enables Taylor to set up 32. He fires it in at the first time of asking.
TAYLOR *14-7 WRIGHT
Taylor looks to have knocked the stuffing out of Wright. He has slowed down on the oche, while Taylor is taking advantage as he looks to break through once again.
A score of 99 sets up 62 and Taylor wraps up the leg against the darts with a 10th two-dart combination of the final. It's a sixth break of throw!
TAYLOR 13-7* WRIGHT
'The Power' opens with a maximum - the 12th of this final. He sets up an attempt at another two-dart combination and he gets the ninth of those to move five legs away from glory.

It looks like Taylor is about to end his three-year drought of majors. Wright pulls one leg back thanks to tops for a 13-dart leg.

Taylor piles in a 177 and sets up tops from 136. He returns for tops. No problem!
The legend is averaging a cool 105.

Wright misses double 6 for a hold of throw and Taylor punishes his opponent with a nice two-dart combination.

Wright goes under T20 after hitting six perfect darts. He really needs a break though and gets a vital D16 in a 12-dart leg to stop the rot.

Taylor has gone up from 101 to 104 in averages. There's been a power surge at the Winter Gardens!
Wright misses four darts at doubles, but Taylor hits the bull on a finish for the third time to extend his winning streak to four legs. That was fabulous!

Wright scores a 140 to set up a ton finish and he takes it out with 20, D20, D20. How's about that!

Wright fires in a maximum to pile the pressure on his opponent. But Taylor stays cool to hit D10 and stay two legs in front.

Taylor misses tops for an 81 checkout, and Wright is forced to throw a 101 out-shot just to hold throw.

Watch out for Taylor's two-dart combinations. He destroyed Adrian Lewis on Saturday night with them.
In a tight leg, Wright is nowhere near 156, but Taylor misses tops for 79.
Wright misses four at doubles to break back and that allows the veteran in for a hold.
TAYLOR *1-0 WRIGHT
Peter Wright was more emotional than Phil Taylor on stage which was rather unusual.
In the first to 18 legs, Taylor is wide of the bull for a 161 checkout, but then comes back to clean up in 14 darts.
