Lewis Hamilton aiming to attack in second half of 2015

World champion won six of the final seven races last year

Lewis Hamilton says he has reset over the summer break and is aiming to attack the rest of the season like he did in his title winning campaign last year.

While last year's Belgian GP saw Hamilton retire and Nico Rosberg extend his championship lead after the pair made contact at Les Combes on lap two, the world champion still sees the race as "a good experience".

Perhaps that is because it seemingly inspired him to perform at a higher level as he won six of the remaining seven races, with a second place in Brazil the only blemish.

"I don't think much about it. It was a good experience last year," Hamilton told Sky Sports F1 when asked about the contact with Rosberg in 2014.

"I'm here and excited to be in a more positive position this year. Last year I was behind in the points and this year I am ahead in the points at this point. We have a good car and I just need to get back on it and focus and kind of start from scratch and attack as I did last year from here."

Hamilton has only won once at Spa and admits it is isn't one of his favourite venues on the F1 calendar. However, he refused to blame bad luck for a record which has seen him retire from half of the Belgian GPs he has started.

"Not really, it is not an easy circuit. Fernando [Alonso] hasn't won here at all. It is just a difficult circuit with the changing conditions and every year is difficult," he added.

"So it is just one of those difficult circuits that doesn't always go to plan."

The Mercedes driver heads into the Belgian GP after a disappointing race in Hungary where a poor start was followed by a string of uncharacteristic driver errors.

"I thought about it for a few days afterwards and what could have led up to that and caused how the Sunday went and you just try to prepare yourself so that you don't have that again," he said.

"You can't win them all and you can't be perfect all the time."
