Jason Day’s wire-to-wire victory at the Players Championship increased the Australian’s advantage at the top of the world rankings and also extended his remarkable run of form on the PGA Tour.
The 28-year-old led from the front at TPC Sawgrass, with an opening-round 63 setting him on his way to a four-shot win over Kevin Chappell and the chasing pack.
Day now holds more than a two-point advantage of the nearest rivals Rory McIlroy and Jordan Spieth at the top of the world standings, while his recent record shares similarities with Tiger Woods' in his prime .
Since finishing one stroke short of a three-man play-off at the Open Championship last summer, Day has since gone on an impressive streak which has seen him reach the winner's circle seven times in his past 17 starts.
Here's a look back at the world No 1's magnificent seven...
Canadian Open (July 2015)
A week on from his Open disappointment, Day birdied his final three holes to snatch a one-shot victory over home favourite David Hearn in Ontario.
The pre-tournament man to beat went into the weekend four shots adrift of midway pacesetter Chad Campbell after rounds of 68 and 66, before recovering from being three over after 11 holes on Saturday to birdie six of his last seven and stay in the hunt.
Day then followed gains at 16 and 17 with a 20-foot birdie at the last on his way to a four-under 68, which set the clubhouse target at 17 under and left him one ahead of Hearn and Bubba Watson.
PGA Championship (August 2015)
The Australian became the second first-time major champion of the year by holding off Jordan Spieth in a final-day battle at Whistling Straits to claim a three-shot win.
Day held a share of the lead with Matt Jones after a storm-affected Friday, but made an ominous move in the third round by picking up six strokes in as many holes around the turn on his way to a 66.
The overnight leader then got off to a hot start on Sunday and held his nerve down the stretch to card a closing five-under 67, with the winning score of 20 under par setting a new major championship record.
The Barclays (August 2015)
Spieth described Day as the world's best after watching him cruise to a six-shot win and register a third win in four starts.
Back-to-back 68s left Day well-placed three strokes off the pace heading into the weekend, where he continued his red-hot streak with two low rounds.
A seven-under 63 parachuted Day into a tie for the lead going into Sunday, where he blitzed clear of the field with a birdie-filled 62.
BMW Championship (September 2015)
A lightning start to the week set Day on his way another dominant victory and leapfrogged him to the top of the world rankings for the first time.
Day threatened to post a "59 round" on his way to career-low 61 during the first day, having to settle for a par at the last after play was suspended with him on the 18th fairway.
A final-hole eagle gave Day a second-round 63 and extended his lead to five, before successive 69s over the weekend were enough to ease him to a six-shot triumph.
Arnold Palmer Invitational (March 2016)
Day left it late at Bay Hill to secure a one-shot wire-to-wire win and claim a first PGA Tour title of the season.
Perfect scoring conditions saw Day follow his opening 66 with a flawless 65 to open up a five-stroke lead after the opening two rounds.
The Australian held off a third-round charge from Henrik Stenson to finish strongly and stay two ahead, before taking advantage of a final-hole bogey from Kevin Chappell to snatch a dramatic victory on the final day.
WGC-Dell Match Play (March 2016)
The 28-year-old overcame a back issue to progress through to the knockout stages, where his red-hot short game and outstanding putting helped him to his second title in as many weeks.
Dispatching American duo Brandt Snedeker and Brooks Koepka set-up a semi-final showdown with Rory McIlroy, where Day edged through an up-and-down encounter 1up.
Day then went on to beat Louis Oosthuizen 5&4 in a one-sided final in Texas, lifting him back above Spieth as the world No 1.
Players Championship (May 2016)
After becoming only the fifth player to post a 63 and equal the TPC Sawgrass course record, Day followed that with a bogey-free 66 during a weather-affected second round to break the tournament's lowest 36-hole total.
Taking a four-shot lead into the weekend, Day was critical of the fast and firm greens but scrambled to post a 73 and maintain the same advantage heading into the final day.
Day briefly opened the door for the rest of the field with two bogeys along the front nine on Sunday, but recovered well to card a 71 and stroll to a comfortable victory.
