Jockey Conor Ring was taken to hospital for precautionary checks following a fall in the last race on the card at Newton Abbot on Wednesday.

Ring was on board Serveontime, who blundered and unseated his rider at the first in the SIS Trading Services Conditional Jockeys' Handicap Hurdle.

The runners bypassed the hurdle on the second circuit as Ring received medical attention.

Clerk of the course Jason Loosemore said: "He was stabilised and put on a spinal board before being taken to Torbay Hospital for precautionary further assessment.
