Silver By Nature will be given an entry in this year's John Smith's Grand National reports trainer Lucinda Russell.
Russell and the nine-year-old's owner Geoff Brown have thought long and hard about the entry, given he had a hard race when seventh in the Welsh National behind Synchronised.
His next engagement will most likely be the defence of his crown in the totesport.com Grand National Trial at Haydock on February 19.
"I met with Geoff yesterday at Newcastle and we decided that he would definitely be entered for Aintree," said Russell.
"He has the ideal profile for the race but no decision on whether he will take part will be made until nearer to the time.
"Geoff bred the horse and if he is happy to let him take his chance, then he will. It will be up to him.
"The horse has come out of the Welsh National in good shape and his next outing is likely to be in the National Trial at Haydock which he won so impressively last year."
