Nunthorpe winner to head straight to France

Michael Bell is hopeful that the ground on Arc day will be good when Margot Did runs in the Prix de l'Abbaye at Longchamp. The three-year-old filly travelled very well when landing the Nunthorpe Stakes at York and provided Hayley Turner with her second Group One sprint of the season after Dream Ahead's July Cup win. Despite proving she can handle ground with plenty of cut this season at both Sandown and Ayr, Bell believes she is such a good moving filly that good ground suits her best. "She is heading for the Abbaye, that's the logical step for her and there's no other suitable race," said Bell. "I personally think she's more effective on faster ground, she's got a very good action. "She does act on softer ground but for me she's better on a quicker surface but she's one of those ones that seems to cope with everything."
