Salisbury winner set to step up in grade

Salisbury winner Farhaan could be set to have his next start in the Juddmonte Royal Lodge Stakes at Newmarket on September 24. The juvenile has won two of his last three starts, showing battling properties to win on Thursday. Angus Gold, racing manager to owner Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum, feels the John Dunlop-trained youngster has earned a step up in grade, and could now aim for Group Two success in the Royal Lodge at Newmarket on September 24. "I was delighted with his performance. He's a very progressive horse with a great attitude," said Gold. "I very much liked the look of him at Salisbury. Richard (Hills) was adamant he would have quickened better on faster ground. "I think we'll have a good look at the Royal Lodge for him now. That is probably the obvious race for him. "We'll obviously see if he's in good shape nearer the time, and we'll see if Sheikh Hamdan has anything else for him, but Farhaan gets the mile well and that might well be where he goes next. "He's a horse who is definitely going to go on as he has a lot of scope and size about him and he'll be a better horse next year. "I'm sure he'll just have one more run this season as he's a May foal and he's only going to get better."
