Cavaleiro could aim to emulate his sire

Marcus Tregoning could aim his Haynes, Hanson & Clark winner Cavaleiro at a Derby trial next spring. Tregoning's juvenile is a son of his Derby winner Sir Percy and it would give him great pleasure were he be able to return to Epsom in June with one of his offspring in the Blue Riband event with a live chance. And after his victory over the highly-regarded Harvard N Yale, the dream might not be too far away. "We're very pleased with him and so far we are having a very good autumn," said Tregoning.

Changing Shape

"He's definitely changing shape. His owners were here last night and he's developing physically. "He's going to stay a mile and a quarter anyway, I'm pretty certain of that, and I think we have to start in one of the Derby trials, probably, and we'll see where we are after that. "There's no certainty he's that good but you have to look towards that. "The owner has turned down some huge offers which is encouraging, he's obviously exciting someone. "Even though he's had five runs he's very progressive so he's a nice one to have. "I know that Jeremy Noseda thinks a lot of Harvard N Yale, they were horrified when he got beat. The exciting thing for us is that Cavaleiro has got better."
