Great Heavens set to miss Doncaster Classic

John Gosden is closer to finalising his Ladbrokes St Leger plans with Great Heavens looking likely to miss the Doncaster Classic. The Irish Oaks winner is second-favourite in most ante-post lists behind Camelot for the Town Moor contest but could head to Longchamp instead. Great Voltigeur winner Thought Worthy does seem set to take on Camelot along with a pacemaker and one from Michelangelo and Shantaram. Gosden told Racing UK: "There will be a pacemaker and two runners. We'll be talking to owners and managers before making our decisions. "Thought Worthy and Michelangelo (are in the mix) and Shantaram missed his prep race so we know about that. "Great Heavens is probably more likely for the Prix Vermaille." Sky Bet cut Thought Worthy to 8-1 from 10-1 for the St Leger, with Michelangelo trimmed to 10s from 12s.
