Curragh winner set for auction

Seolan is to be offered at the Tattersalls Autumn Horses In Training Sales at Newmarket later this month following her victory at the Curragh on Sunday. The two-year-old daughter of Alhaarth landed the Listed Staffordstown Stud Stakes in good style for trainer Patrick Prendergast. She had changed ownership after winning her only previous race at Listowel in September when in the care of Paul Deegan. "She's perfect, she's very tough and appears to handle any ground," said County Kildare-based Prendergast. "She's going to the horses in training sale in Newmarket at the end of the month. She's not in the catalogue, she's a wild card entry. "She won't be given away, though. If she doesn't make a good price she'll come home and I'll train her for next year. "The race she won was won 12 months ago by Homecoming Queen and I'd be happy to have her next year for the (1000) Guineas. "She hasn't seen good ground in a long time, but she seems to handle the Polytrack on the Curragh very well. I think she will handle anything."
