Lavelle pencils in Wincanton option for chase duo

Court In Motion could be set to make his return to racecourse action after nearly 600 days off the track in Saturday's totepool Rising Stars Novices' Chase at Wincanton. Emma Lavelle has never made any secret of the high regard in which she holds the seven-year-old and when he won the Grade Two Leamington Hurdle at Warwick by 21 lengths in January 2011, he looked destined for the top. He was beaten by Back In Focus on his next start at Haydock but ran a fine race to finish third to Bobs Worth in the Albert Bartlett at Cheltenham. Last time out he fell at Aintree and he missed the whole of last season with a tendon injury. "Court In Motion, touching all wood, is schooling great and going well at home and I'd love to send him to Wincanton," Lavelle told Racing UK. "I love the horse and he's always looked like he should be a chaser. "The only proviso would be if the ground wasn't soft enough for him then we might think about going somewhere else, but it's on the agenda at the minute." Lavelle is favouring a run in the Badger Ales Trophy on Saturday for Zarrafakt, rather than a tilt at the Hennessy Gold Cup at Newbury on December 1. The eight-year-old has a fantastic first-time-out record, winning three times and finishing second once in the four seasons he has been racing. Last year, however, he managed to win on his second appearance of the season, something he had failed to manage previously, and that success came over the course and distance of Saturday's feature. "It is intended that he'll go there but he's got an entry in the Hennessy as well," Lavelle added. "At this stage I'd say we'd rather go to Wincanton. He's won round there and he's better right-handed."
