North Yorkshire trainer Richard Fahey hailed Garswood "a star" following his retirement from racing.
Joint-owners Cheveley Park Stud, from where the four-year-old colt will stand, announced earlier this month that this season's Prix Maurice de Gheest winner was due to have his swansong in the Prix de la Foret at Longchamp on Sunday.
Garswood was, however, a late withdrawal from that race, with time now called on his racing career.
Fahey tweeted: "Hope Garswood has a good stud career at Cheveley Park Stud.
"Dropped off this morning. We will miss him. He was a star."
Garswood won four races from 15 starts, including the 2013 Lennox Stakes at Glorious Goodwood and Listed races at Ayr and at Newmarket.
