In depth

Verdict

Several of these competed at last year’s Royal meeting and Glencadam Glory finished in front of Salouen when fifth in the King Edward VII over track and trip. The former made a winning reappearance at Wolverhampton while Mirage Dancer placed in the Hampton Court over 1m2f though has something to prove over today’s trip. But BARSANTI found only Idaho too good over course and distance in the Group 2 Hardwicke Stakes last summer and a repeat of that form would see Roger Varian’s charge come out best today. Scotland missed the whole of last year but was narrowly beaten in the 2016 renewal of this and God Given will likely win a decent prize this season but perhaps not today given his best form came on soft going last year.
