      Verdict

Adrian Keatley's Millefiori has been on a terrific run but the four-year-old has a mountain to climb on these terms stepping up several grades. Secret Number goes well fresh so his lengthy absence is not a concern. But he hasn't raced over a trip this short since 2013 so others are preferred. Almodovar was third in the Hardwicke Stakes at Ascot and then ran in the Juddmonte International at York so has a touch of class, though is another who would have preferred further. Maleficent Queen rattled up a five-timer before coming unstuck at Ascot in June but has a penalty to carry. Further rain could see mud-lover Motdaw run a big race but Frankie has travelled up for just the one ride on ABDON and Sir Michael Stoute's colt can earn some back type on just his fifth start having got back on track at Haydock last month.
