Verdict

A small but competitive field goes to post for the first on the card and the market will prove a good guide as to what is expected of the newcomers but the principals look to be Three Pennies, Love Palace and Gypsy Johnny and the tentative vote goes to Three Pennies. The selection showed he had improved from his debut running when winning a fair race over course and distance time out when defeating Cutney Mary. She will appreciate any rain that falls and with that experience behind her she is taken to win again. Love Place is a well bred colt by Kings Best from a yard that can ready a newcomer and the market will give a good guide as to what is expected. Gypsy Johnny is another from a yard that is doing well with its two year olds but his breeding suggests he will do better over a longer distance so he is passed over on this occasion. Eborarry is from a yard whose juveniles usually come on for their first run and for the winner we return tom the experienced Three Pennies.
