Verdict

TEMPLE PLACE won with plenty in hand over fences at Newton Abbot last week. No slouch over timber in his younger days, he may still have enough speed to make a winning return to the smaller obstacles in a relatively uninspiring finale. Alan Jones also runs Murfreesboro, who has been threatening to win a similar contest this season, while a case can certainly be made for surprise Perth winner Ocarito dropped in grade. Prideus has more to find if he's to end a long losing run, however, and Richo has well beaten on the Flat recently.
