      Verdict

      None of the septet can be ignored in a competitive contest featuring progressive staying three-year-olds. However, THE GRADUATE (NAP) was impressive at Sandown on his first assignment over this trip, having travelled well just in behind the leaders before quickening away. He looks best on today's ground too and rates a good handicapper in the making. Scarpeta has been kept busy of late but retains form well and may well go close to reversing Chelmsford form with St Michel on these revised terms, the latter having been slightly disappointing last time at Bath when easily swept aside by Emperor Napoleon. Cases can be made for all of the remainder of which Monaco Rose makes most appeal at the weights.
