Verdict

A rather interesting contest in which preference is for APAZINE; the dangers include Lexi's Princess and Hoppy's Flyer. John Gosden's Storm Cat filly has run well in two of her three starts including at Leicester last time when narrowly held behind So Belle. Her trainer doesn't send many juveniles to the Roodee so he must have high hopes that she'll handle the track and a bold bid is expected from a fair draw. Al Andalyya improved from first to second runs and further improvement would see her feature, Cheque Book needs a market check on debut as a cheap but well-related purchase, whilst Dancing Tara is better than she showed at Warwick last time but doesn't look a stable star. Dazzling Valentine is more interesting (especially if well-backed) as her wily old trainer loves to have winners here, and along with Hoppy's Flyer who ran well at Haydock in April she is considered. As is Lexi's Princess who shaped very nicely behind Krypton Factor at Hamilton but faces a different task, My Elliemay who shaped well on debut at Leicester, and Little Miss Take who has been given a break since a Pontefract disappointment. Smart Red is not discounted given the way the horses normally progress from the yard, but the nod goes to Apazine.
