Verdict

Tequila Lord won this last year from just 3lb lower and loves the track and testing ground. Sober Sailor hasn't been done any favours on his handicap debut and Mackey Boy was well beaten at Thurles last time from just 1lb higher. Millenarys Lady showed definite promise on her handicap debut at Thurles last month and must go on the short-list but winning point-to-pointer Up The Girls is likely to find this on the short side. Ian McCarthy rode a superb front-running race on Spring Wine at Tramore on New Year's Day and a 6lb rise shouldn't prevent another big run, especially as runner-up Catleen has since won. The latter's trainer, Willie Mullins, is represented here by IMMEDIATE RESPONSE who is returning from a very long break and having his first start for the yard but he's probably very well handicapped and can gain his first success over timber.
