Verdict

CHRYSANTHEMUM was in excellent form in the spring, winning at Group 3 and Listed level at the Curragh. She's disappointed subsequently but a return to form should see her home. Rock Critic made a winning debut over hurdles at the Galway Festival and ran very well behind Soon in a Listed race at Killarney over a mile last time, though he was just behind Barack on that occasion and there appears no real reason for a reversal of the form with Willie McCreery's charge. Three-year-olds have a good record in the race and neither Crystal Kangaroo nor Macbeth should be dismissed as the former was very impressive winning her maiden at Killarney.
