In depth

Verdict

Hans Crescent and RUBERT both won easily at Thurles on the same day earlier this month and look certain to get competitive here. The former was left a long way clear when his main rival fell at the second last and an 8lb rise won't aid his cause but Denis Cullen's charge made all and galloped on to an impressive success on only his third start over fences and can go in again. Osirixamix made a winning start over fences at Limerick in January and has raced at a much higher level subsequently. He will appreciate this drop in class as will Sorceror, who won nicely at Ballinrobe before making a bad mistake when in contention at Punchestown. The front-running Uncle Tom Cobley may find the ground a bit testing on his return to action.
