        Verdict

        This year’s Classic is all about last year’s winner ARROGATE. A breathtaking victory in the Dubai World Cup in March has been followed by a couple of shock defeats but trainer Bob Baffert experienced a similar problem with Triple Crown hero American Pharoah a couple of years ago before nursing the latter back to his best in this contest. Arrogate is taken to reverse latest running here with stablemate Collected and he beat Gun Runner in Dubai though the latter has gone from strength to strength subsequently, winning three Grade 1 races on the bounce and beating War Story twice while doing so. Baffert also runs the progressive West Coast and Mubtaahij today while Aidan O’Brien gives dual Guineas winner Churchill his first start on Dirt but he’s hard to recommend in this company.
