DANCE AND DANCE can be forgiven a below par effort at York in a three-runner affair with the soft ground against him. He'd found only Side Glance too good in the Diomed Stakes at Epsom before that and looks the one to beat under today's advantageous terms. St Moritz is next best on official ratings but is a frustrating sort and finished well behind the selection at Epsom while Bridgefield is another whose obvious ability is marred by inconsistency. The progressive Madam Macie looks a bigger threat after sluicing up by eight lengths at Hamilton last time but Self Employed and Sos Brillante look outclassed in this company.
Bridgefield (USA) 16-1 (9-2) Mid-division, weakened 3f out, soon behind and virtually pulled up 2f out, tailed off, last of 30, well behind Prince Of Johanne (9-3) at Royal Ascot 1m hcp (2) gd in Jun.
Dance And Dance (IRE) 9-4 (9-7) Tracked leaders in 3rd, ridden over 2f out, one pace from over 1f out, eased inside final furlong, last of 3, 9l behind Tullius (9-10) at York 1m Listed stks 3yo (1) sft in Jun.
Self Employed 9-2 (9-13) In touch, ridden to chase winner 2f out, kept on, no chance with winner, 2nd of 14, 6l behind Orbit The Moon (8-13) at Thirsk 7f mdn stks (5) gd in May '11.
St Moritz (IRE) 7-2 (9-1) In rear, headway on outer over 2f out, soon ridden, weakened and eased final furlong, 5th of 6, 11l behind Rodrigo De Torres (9-1) at Nottingham 1m cond Stakes (2) gs in Jun.
Madam Macie (IRE) 11-4 (10-0) Tracked leader, led over 5f out, ridden clear over 1f out, hard held, won at Hamilton 1m flls hcp 0-95 (3) sft in Jun beating She's A Character (9-0) by 8l, 6 ran.
Sos Brillante (CHI) 50-1 (8-6) Chased leaders, outpaced before halfway, headway over 1f out, stayed on to go 3rd inside final furlong, never able to challenge, 3rd of 4, 2l behind Alben Star (8-11) at Haydock 6f cond Stakes (3) sft.
