Verdict

Last month’s Ascot Gold Cup hero STRADIVARIUS bids to repeat last year’s success in this and is hard to oppose. Desert Skyline was third last year and John Gosden’s colt beat the latter once again when landing the Yorkshire Cup in May with Call To Mind further behind. Torcedor was only a length behind the selection in the Gold Cup and should make a race of it again though Idaho is still a class act on his day and Aidan O’Brien’s charge will most likely stay the longer trip. St Michel finished in front of Dal Harraild in last year’s Lonsdale Cup at York though both look up against it in this company.
