    Verdict

Nothing can be excluded with confidence in a tight affair but VERA DRAKE has performed with admirable consistency this term and can be counted unlucky not to have visited the winner's enclosure. She was headed in the dying strides at Doncaster earlier in the month and can take advantage of the weight received from older rivals. The Goldie string has been in excellent heart in recent days and Theglasgowwarrior makes a quick reappearance after a convincing success here just five days ago. He is greatly respected. An Fear Ciuin is another last-time scorer at this track who should get involved but Davy's Dilemma appeals as the main threat on the back of a good effort when fifth in the Northumberland Plate consolation race. This looks a less demanding task.
