Verdict

DIAMOND ECLIPSE gets the nod on his handicap debut. Nick Williams' gelding is only four but he looks fairly-treated on 91 judging by his final run at Wincanton behind Marc Aurele. Dusk is a chaser and might just need this run, so a bigger threat may emerge from top-weight Coeur Broule despite a 5lb rise for his Plumpton third. Alan King's horses are flying so the returning Midnight Appeal is respected, alongside course winner Musical Wedge and the interesting Irish recruit Back The Rock. Monsieur Cadou is the other to mention in a weak heat like this.
