In depth

Verdict

The form of THIMAAR's victory over Gulf Of Naples here last month was given a boost when the runner-up scored easily subsequently. John Gosden's charge will need to improve again but looks perfectly capable of doing so and will take some beating. Red Cadeaux is the obvious form pick on his brilliant efforts at the backend of last season in the Melbourne Cup and the Hong Kong Vase but he's never won first-time-out and it will again be a very long campaign for him. Colour Vision is a decent stayer who has never raced on Polytrack but Electrolyser has won on the surface and showed himself in good heart at Leicester three weeks ago. Barbican is unbeaten in two runs on Polytrack though the trip is a bit of an unknown.
