In depth

Verdict

Blue Zealot needs a market check but without that guide we'll side with the mildly progressive MACANTA; Second To Nun, Bidable and Shared Moment could also go well. Our selection is a daughter of Giant's Causeway who went very close at Bath last time, an effort for which she's gone up 2lbs which seems fair. She also placed over this trip at Yarmouth and there are excuses for her other two efforts since joining this yard; she may've needed her first run and at Lingfield didn't appear to enjoy the surface. With that in mind she could get off the mark here. Second To Nun has only one win to her name and that came in a poor classified contest at Bath but these conditions do suit. She wasn't too far behind our pick last time and is a couple of pounds better off but is far more exposed. Bidable has plenty to find on a line through Jewelled but has improved since and at least knows how to win. She's up 5lbs but remains fairly treated and this is probably less competitive than the race she won at Warwick. Shared Moment is one of several trying headgear and is interesting enough but would want some rain to arrive, Applaude had no excuses off this mark last time and probably wants a greater test of stamina while Munich has been clobbered for beating a dodge-pot at Kempton and has to improve. Blue Zealot needs a market but hasn't done anything to suggest a win is near even off a lowly mark, so a good chance on paper for Macanta.
