In depth

Verdict

There are quite a few in this line up that have proven ability, but we will take a chance on the newcomer Alsharq, who is taken to beat Nice Tune and Abide. Marcus Tregoning has his stable in top form and he is capable of landing these type of events with debutantes. Alsharq is certainly bred in the purple being by Machiavellien out of a Saddlers wells mare and if the market speaks in her favour take note. Nice Tune contested a listed race at Goodwood last time and wasn't disgraced behind Hearthstead Wings, she should be capable of a good showing against this lesser opposition. Abide finished second to the smart Godolphin newcomer Fen Shui last time, and should be capable of further improvement. Godolphin are also represented here with Saywaan, an expensive American bred filly, who should be watched closely in the betting. The market will provide plenty of clues, but we expect Alsharq to come in for support and she is a sporting selection.
