In depth

Verdict

A decent maiden which could prove valuable for future reference but the vote today goes to SHEER COURAGE ahead of Old Master Expert and Royal Opera. The selection represents a very strong yard and made a pleasing debut in a hot maiden at Newmarket. There should be more to come from the son of Invincible Spirit who holds plenty top entries later in the year. The same can be said about Old Master Expert. He was sent off favourite for his debut run and ran very nicely to finish second. The step up in trip will suit and who ever has improved the most between him and the selection should take this. Royal Opera is having his third run but stepped up on his debut effort when finishing third in a hot maiden at Goodwood. There should be more to come but the above two have more scope for improvement. Degly Bo and Diplomasi are others to note but Sheer Courage gets the marginal call over Old Master Expert
