    Verdict

Lutine Bell, Mush Mir and Valencha join PIPPBROOK MINISTAR on the shortlist and the vote goes to the last-named. Although second on her three starts to date, there appears to be little wrong with the attitude of Jim Boyle's filly. She has been given a break since her latest second to Srda (now rated 86) and on her fourth start over this course and distance she can oblige. The main danger may be Valencha who shaped with tons of promise when narrowly beaten by Pose at Salisbury. Neil Callan looks a good jockey booking and considering she was very green on debut there should be heaps of improvement to come from the Hugh Morrison-trained filly. Silvee and Yarra River are exposed, although the latter has shown enough to suggest that he will win a race sooner rather than later, whilst Lilli Palmer and Sparkys Gift will be eligible for handicaps after this run. That applies to Mush Mir as well but he has shaped with more promise although the way he finished his race at Nottingham in May might suggest that he needs to go back up in trip. That's also the worry with the blinkered-first-time Lutine Bell who has shaped as more of a stayer in all starts but is now dropped back in trip, and therefore we are happy to return to Pippbrook Ministar as the selection.
