A wide-open handicap can go to Moon Bird ahead of Whistleupthewind, Millfields Dreams and Burhaan to name but three. Moon Bird has been in fairly consistent form of late, having performed with credit since scoring over seven furlongs here in December. She was badly outpaced on her last visit to the Surrey track, doing well in the circumstances to finish fourth, and as long as Tony Culhane does not dwell too much today, she should be bang in there at the finish. Whistleupthewind probably needs further, but ran well to be third behind another of today's rivals, Millfields Dreams, at Wolverhampton last time, and on 6lb better terms for the less than four-lengths that separated them, she can also run well. Burhaan needs to be produced at just the right time, and is paying the price for some decent efforts last year, but even so, can be considered along with Desert Light who will appreciate the drop in grade. For the winner we return to Moon Bird to small stakes.
