    Verdict

    Four quality yards clash with contenders we've almost certainly yet to see the best of. There are question marks over all despite their promise and VOLCANIC SKY is the choice. He'll need to progress from a Haydock debut when 9l fourth but yard inmates often improve considerably for a first run and hopefully he can follow that trend here. Pegasus Kid, beaten 11 lengths by Berkshire Blue at Wolverhampton, had the rest of the ten-runner field easily accounted for and seems a work in progress. Francophilia has the most solid profile of the quartet and will probably set out to make all but it was a little disappointing she was not able to prevail last time at Bath. Topweight Heart Of Grace is hardest to assess, having done well to score on her Goodwood debut but then never a factor at Kempton less than a fortnight later.

    Francophilia 11-8fav (8-6) Led, ridden 2f out, edged left and headed inside final furlong, kept on, 2nd of 9, 1l behind Flintrock (8-11) at Bath 1m 4f stks (4) fm in May.
